SOUNDTRACK of yesterday afternoon: "WEEEEEEEEEE!!!" ALL the way down to the Thames! After an afternoon bounding around a National Trust house, one long climb up the valley and then a descent back to the river. All the way to the bottom. Expressing overflow of the pure joy, simple pleasure and inane fun that is riding fast down a really long hill. The kind of hill that makes you smile till if aches, laugh till it hurts, whoop till you are out of breath and wheezing. YESTERDAY (Saturday 31st August) my family took a train / bike tour of Berkshire to Basildon Park. When we left we suffered our way a little up the hills to the exit. The entry which you then swing around the park to is down by the River Thames. And so it was that we kicked off the top of the hill, lined on right side by walls and left side by trees and commenced the joy-full yelping and hooting and hollering all the way through the smooth bends of our descent. Both our boys, William in bike seat, Zach in a wrap, arms out squealing and yelling all the way. LET the joy come now, not when you hit twenty-thousand subscribers, not when you hit four million, not when your are Times best seller. EVERY single Times best selling author has sat down and written, for the love of writing. Because they have something to share, not because they wanted to be Times Bestseller. They had a passion to share what they saw in their mind, to give what was making them want to leap around and sing from the roof tops. Every bestselling book IS a song from the roof tops. Every success-full sale, painting, piano composition, ballet, theatre show IS a song from the roof tops, is YOUR song from the roof tops. LET your song be heard, let it ring out and echo and reverberate around the canyons of peoples lives and hearts. Only by being there in the moment, on your roof top can you share your joy, your passion, your verve. Your song, when sung truly by your-self from the keys of your keyboard, or the nib of your pen, or your violin strings, or the stage, movie show, presentation, where-ever, will swell to fill peoples lives. INSPIRE action in others by your persistent, positive, power-full action. Be passionate. Over-flow with passion for what you are sharing. Fountains overflow, without overflow a fountain has nothing. It is a pool of water, stagnating and diseased. (Dis-eased). Do not let dis-ease be your world, do not let your ideas stagnate and turn to dust or mould. Realise them now. Make them real. Really real. Make them stand out from the page, make them sing from the roof tops. EXPRESS your overflow. Do it now. Today. When else is there? I believe passionately that people need to overflow, people need to see the big skies, the sweeping arch of distant rivers and the curve of landscapes. It is in our nature to challenge ourselves by finding new ways to move across the landscape. That is the reason I adore being able to open new worlds to people as an outdoor sports instructor. I find few things greater than the joy of helping someone to realise their potential and discover their overflow. Your overflow comes from within, you can experience it anytime, even on the long hill climbs up to the start of the whooping descent! CLICK HERE to find out how. Thank you ACM Dancing with the Overflow

WHO is winning? Fear or creative abundance? Fear is death. Death is not the end. From death you can re-birth. You must re-birth. It is your duty to. When you are creative your are birthing your ideas for the world. Your ideas and intuition are correct, your projects catch fire, go viral, spread, get shared, get tweeted and liked and talked about. Sometimes your ideas are just as good and your writing just as pure, your spirit just as true, and they fall flat. Is that what you are afraid of? Is that why you are not creating? Creating today, right now, your best work. EVERY piece your create is your best work. Each piece you create has the power to change the world. Every word you speak will change the world, given the right pattern of events to follow it. Any seed can grow, given the correct amount light, water, nutrients. WHAT makes you think you are any different to any-one else? WHAT is it that made Miles Davis and Louis Armstrong and Frank Sinatra success-full, yet you cannot be. Why Picasso and Renoir and Cézanne and Monet. What is different between you and William Shakespeare, Walt Whitman, JRR Tolkien and JK Rowling? SIMPLY put, why not you? What are you holding back on? Fear? Fear of what? Of having to explain it? WHAT if you had to explain to the world why you didn’t do it. What if Da Vinci had to explain why he burned the Mona Lisa? If Galileo had to explain why he hid the telescope? If Pasteur and Darwin and Fleming had hidden their creative masterworks away for fear of having to explain it to the world. For fear of having to stand up and say, “Yes, I did that, it was me.” FACED with the adversity of fear we are each and all inclined to take the easy road. To shrug off the difficulties and dangers of success and fame, the potential of humiliation and ridicule and defamation. THE world is filled with people who took the easy road, people no one has heard of, people no one recognises in the street. You walk past them every day. DO not be one of them any-more. Create. Connect. Expand. “Two roads diverged in a wood, and I... I took the one less traveled by, and that has made all the difference.” Robert Frost. 'The Road Not Taken.' BE the road less travelled by. Make all the difference. It is never too late. Thank you ACM Positive Passionate Power-full Performance Footprints in a summer storm.

“Catch on fire with enthusiasm and people will come for miles to watch you burn.” John Wesley, founder of the Methodist Church. WHAT is it to burn, to be consumed, to be changed? What would that take? What is needed for you to “catch on fire” with your best work? THE fire triangle teaches us that to burn you need an ignition source, heat – your passion. You need oxygen – your audience, people to come in and be consumed with and by your work. And you need fuel – your observations, things you notice, keeping your pond stocked and the well filled. HOW can you encourage your fire to burn well? You need to feed each of the three parts of this triangle. Your passion: fuel this by your work, keep working. Keep practicing. Keep honing a sharp edge and a sharp mind. Work tirelessly and allow your-self to be prolific. Take to your work as a bird takes to flight; using all the sky that it needs at any time, and in so doing using all the sky. Use all your passion, all at once, let it burn right through you till you are weary and exhausted and ready for more, raring for more. Bounding for more. Desperate for more. Your audience: feed them with your work. The art that you are creating. An audience can be ten thousand people in a football stadium. It can be four hundred people at a launch. It can be twenty people in an online forum. It can be one person in a room. Your audience are people touched by your work, people who want to know what is next, people who care that you do the next piece and get it down and get it out there so that they can see/hear/smell/taste/read/watch/feel/enjoy/love your work and anticipate the next piece. Do not work because of your audience. Do not work for your audience. Just do the work. And put it out there. And the audience will found itself perpetually and they will tell friends and uncles and brothers and lovers. Love you audience, then forget they exist and turn on your passion. Your fuel: Get outside, get inside, sit quietly in cafes and sing in the football terraces, run across miles of stinking marshland, swim down rivers. Do that which you have to do in order that you may continue to see the world and accept all the little messed up and twisted elements of it. Then turn it all on its head and let your work and your passion turn the normal on its head and catch fire and let your passion burn out your beauty-full art. YOU have one chance to create it. To write the ‘one novel within you’. Or to sail across that ocean. Or to sing at the Royal Albert Hall. Or to get your name in lights and your show on Broadway. TAKE it. PEOPLE may watch jealously/angrily/ignorantly/stupidly/lazily. TAKE your chance anyway. THEN watch the next opportunity emerge and unfold. AND take that too. Thank you ACM Positive Passionate Power-full Performance CUT to the chase already! YOU were made to get your arms stuck in up to the elbow and keep pushing. LIFE exists around us in a superficial layer, all these screens and shows and choices which all add up to being just about the same answer in the end. The answer of sit down and watch. The answer is take heed to keep your head down and match into the round hole you have been allotted. The answer is over sugared, over caffeinated, frivolous, episode one series seven. WHAT is this answer serving to provide you with? How does this world make you better? How are you improving, growing, extending, changing. What did you learn in the fourth coffee of the morning. What came from the buzz of over-sweetened breakfast snatched in the car this morning? How did you grow when the end credits rolled on the all new series seven? EPISODE ridden life. Starring at the screen for the new excitement, the next meaning-full interaction. Hoping to find something in this corner, that place, and those choices. THE choices of the episode world are not serving you. The coffee needed to fire you up to get in to your work is not your passion. What is your passion? What makes your heart skip and your mind soar? ME? I will be running down a mountain side, cutting grace-fully across the flow of the river, swimming down weirs and rapids, edging up cliffs by my fingertips. Sharing my passion for the huge old world outside with people everywhere, and hoping for a break in the weather once in a while. Or for the rains to hold on a few more days as I want the rivers to be pumping and the valleys to be green. UP the valleys and down in the rivers, exploring the myriad choices of movement through the landscape. That's where I want to be found. Let me know when the credits are over and give me a call, if you don't get through, leave a message, I probably have no phone reception, all the best places do! TODAY I am introducing and pushing a group of children at Dinton Activity Centre to push themselves harder than they believe they can go on the climbing wall. That is my day, under a sprinkle of rain, and a shower or two. Following that I will be watching the sun go down as I run swim safety on the open water swimming session - open to all, come along for a swim. Just a snapshot of my days under the sky. Positive Passionate Power-full Performance By sunset today: What will you have done? Where will you do? How will you have changed and improved?
Sunset over Port Adelaide, Adelaide, South Australia. YOU eat to provide nutrients to your body, food is your fuel. Right? Then why is it that the 'Western Diet' is so bereft of nutrients? MY ongoing experiment into releasing sugar - hitting into the end of week three - is going fantastically well. (See my introduction to the idea in my blog from July 28th, titled Naturally Sweet.) I am increasingly infuriated and agonised by the amount of bizarre places that I am finding sugar 'hidden'. MUSTARD. English Mustard, weirdly the shop bought jars of it contains sugar, the powdered variety is pure mustard flour. The issue I have with condiments extends too, mint sauce, chilli sauces, ketchup, brown sauce, BBQ sauce… It seems that every single last condiment on the fridge shelf is stacked with huge amounts of sugar. WHAT'S the problem? Why the big issue? According to Gillian McKeith - famous for the You Are What You Eat series, high sugar consumption can lead to weight gain, risk of obesity, infertility, poor concentration, hyperactivity, aggression, lower immune system and diabetes. LATE last year I released chocolate from my life. It is not something I can't eat. It is something I choose not to. It is full of addictive agents, empty calories and supports such evils as slave labour. At the same time, appalled by the effects that sugar highs and lows have on the body, along with the levels of caffeine in chocolate, I also released coffee and (mostly) caffeinated tea. 'DRUG foods' is the term used by Jason Vale (AKA The Juice Master.) These are foods that create a desire and a need for themselves, as previously mentioned, refined sugar hits the blood stream fast, causing a spike in blood sugar and a resulting collapse of blood sugar levels, the result: a perceived desire for the high again, and so the cycle goes on. (Jason Vale's 'Chocolate Busters' is a beauty-fully written book discussing this in more detail.) NUTRIENT levels in refined sugar, and most other refined food, is minimal. A lovely rule of thumb is that if it is white, don't eat it! White sugar, white flour, white salt (pink himalayan or sea salt are not white!), white rice, white pasta. The refining and bleaching and processing beyond death of these foods is fatal to any nutrients left within them. Foods low in nutrients cause the body to draw nutrients out of stored nutrients - often in places such as bone marrow - in order to allow the body to process them into the body. This causes a drop in nutrients available to the body when you eat food. MADNESS! Surely that is the most crazy thing possible. To remove nutrients in order to gain a hollow, temporary fix. A fix that is flashed over by the body and then causes drops in stored nutrients and a need to recreate the high, and hence the ingestion of more of the drug food. ON the bright side, I have found a few places that I can come to for a bit of sweetness in my porridge or a dessert or a fast prepared snack: honey is a bit of a saviour, as is maple syrup. Also St Dalfour Jams are made without sugar, 100% fruit jam! Brilliant. And on the subject of fruit, fruit also is brilliant. This is a great experiment to begin in mid summer! Strawberries, raspberries, new season English apples. The cheapest fruit of the year, ideal! ONWARDS along this journey I go. More soon on the latest findings, frustrations and feelings. I am safe, it's only change. "Down dust and pine cone tracks..." Freshwater beach, Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. (Quote: Ben Howard, Old Pine.) “You’ve changed.” Spoken with such accusation and pointing finger. I am safe, it’s only change. It’s you. You have changed. Not me, no, no, I couldn’t change. Not me, I’m the safe as I’ve always been, yes, yes, it’s you, YOU have changed. That is bad, YOU have messed up every-thing. How dare YOU? How dare you alter something and make something different. I am safe, it’s only change. Alas, yes, you have. However, it is not only YOU who have changed. It is also the accuser. You have broken down the walls of your world-view, you have changed. It is you who has chosen to ‘live up’. To be bigger and better and to exist for more than you could have previously. I am safe, it’s only change. When you put the brick of change through the window of your box and it fell out colour-fully, you also put the metaphorical brick through the window of every-one else’s box. Shatter your own world-view and every-one else’s will come tumbling down too. I am safe, it’s only change. Then when you climbed out of the window, and started living else-where. What did that do to their assumptions? What happened to the box that you exist within. You blew them clean into the stratosphere! When you see the finger pointed, when the words are spoken, “YOU’VE changed.” Accept them, and note to your-self your congratulations that yes, I’ve changed. Yes, it’s power-full. Yes, I’m changing other people too. This is progress. Thank you for noticing. I am safe, it’s only change. Because you are safe, it is only change. Thank you ACM Positive Passionate Power-full Performance Behind the calm serenity of shifting clouds are immense forces at work.
Autumn clouds near Skidby windmill, Hull, East Yorkshire. Change is confrontational. When you change your world-view, shatter the little box that you live within, you confront the world-view of all those people around you who have their own place for you in a little box. “Yes, Andrew, he does this, and speaks like this, and I can always go to him when...” I am safe, it’s only change. YOU will receive resistance from people around you and especially people who know you well. Your change will cause a collision with other people’s assumptions about your-self and how you view the world and act within it. Stepping up and changing, living up to your best self causes others to be confronted with the point that they too could change, they too have the power to alter their reality and become better people. I am safe, it’s only change. The people you know best have the biggest wall around your space in their world-view. The people who know you best, your long term friends, your family of origin (parents, brothers, sisters, extended family), they have known you for a huge amount of time. They are comfortable with you, that is why they still ‘hang out’ with you after, ten, twenty-seven, forty-three... years. You can still laugh over shared times and stories of “do you remember when you...” and “oh, that time you...” or “who was that boy that you...” These are the people who know you and know your silhouette when you enter the room, and know the way you speak when you’re tired. They really know you. I am safe, it’s only change. Now, change. Alter something: refuse to buy into this negativity, or that discussion, or say something outrageously different. Change your world-view, and you will not only shatter your own limits, you will shatter the limits others have put upon you. This is confronting for them. Nothing more, nothing less. I am safe, it’s only change. Remember your mantra. I am safe, it’s only change. Accept that change is safe, is positive, is acceptable, is beneficial. If we had never had the courage to change, we would still be in the oceans, the trees, the caves, the gladiatorial amphitheatres. Change is safe, is positive, change is beneficial and change is progress. “Be the change you wish to see in the world.” (Gandhi) Thank you, ACM Positive Passionate Power-full Performance.
